Yesterday our secondary students had the pleasure of interviewing our HUSD Superintendent, Mr. Dave Olney and Deputy Superintendent, Dr. George Landon for our Podcast. Some words of advice they had for our students is be creative, resilient, kind, authentic, do it well and be on time. It's a great day to be a Shark!

Good afternoon Shark families. This is a reminder we have our school pictures scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday 9/18 from 8:00am-12:00pm at Shadow Ridge School. Students will also be receiving their ID cards during this time. Even if you don't plan on purchasing pictures, we need all students to take their picture for the yearbook. This week our Chemistry students are having some fun experiencing the different gas laws. From popping popcorn or blowing up marshmallows, students get to see firsthand how the gas laws behave in the real world. Go Sharks !
5th graders had a goal party today to celebrate their hard work. 13 students were invited to the celebration. These students showed growth on iready reading and math diagnostics from last year's results (some students showed as much as 2 years of growth in areas of measurement and data, algebra, and geometry). Also, students who achieved their Khan Academy goals (proficiency and mastery in all skills). Some students even achieved 2 grade levels worth of progress in Khan Academy in just one month. Go 5th grade Sharks!

Hi Shark Families. Friday, September 13th is the LAST day your students will be able to access the MANDATORY i-Ready assessments. As a reminder, these assessments are required per our District School Board policy and if your student does not complete both the math and ELA portions of the i-Ready, they will be automatically placed into Academic Focus for Q2. Please reach out to your homeroom teachers ASAP if you have any questions or concerns about the iReady assessment requirement. Thank you.
